Letters to a Young Poet

A theatrical chamber music production created by Bill Barclay of Concert Theatre Works, performed by the Parker Quartet with two actors and projections. The staged work dramatizes the correspondence of poet Rainer Maria Rilke alongside string quartets by Ravel (a contemporary of Rilke, both born in 1875) and Debussy. It incorporates Rilke letters rediscovered in 2020 and newly translated into English by Damion Searls, and received its world premiere at the Aldeburgh Festival in the UK.
