The Miró Quartet's first holiday album, Hearth, presents original arrangements from 15 amazing composers, all embodying their favorite holiday tunes in their own original way. Composers included are Clarice Assad, Kevin Puts, Michi Wiancko, Reena Esmail, Karl Mitze, Sam Lipman, Alex Berko, Anna Clyne, Jeff Scott, Gabriel Kahane, Michael Begay, Paola Prestini, Derrick Skye, Joel Love and Hyung-ki Joo.
Bringing this album to the stage, the Miró Quartet offers a holiday-themed performance that is both festive and artistically distinctive—perfectly suited for your series. Blending beloved seasonal melodies with bold new perspectives, the program invites audiences into a familiar celebration made fresh, thoughtful, and joyful.
Miró Quartet & Karen Slack | Tamar-kali Commission
New work by acclaimed concert and film composer Tamar-kali (Mudbound) will feature soprano Karen Slack and the Miró Quartet, setting texts centered in the inspirational poetry of women of the Harlem Renaissance. Tamar-kali hopes to pay homage to the music and poetry of that time, bringing to the fore her own unique voice as a contemporary composer whose work is grounded across contemporary pop, classical and film music genres.

Miró Quartet & Isidore String Quartet
The Miró and Isidore Quartets will be touring together for a limited period in the 2025/26 season. The program will close with Mendelssohn’s iconic Octet to celebrate the 200th anniversary of when the work was composed the autumn of 1825.

Miró Quartet | Celebrate Beethoven!
The Miró Quartet celebrated its 25th anniversary in the 2020 season by performing a wide range of repertoire that pays homage to the legacy of the string quartet and also looks to the future of chamber music and string quartet playing in the U.S. In honor of the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth at the start of the pandemic, the Quartet undertook a remarkable project during which they broadcast live performances of the composer’s complete string quartets remotely from venues throughout Austin, TX for the Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival and audiences from around the world in summer 2020.
