MKI Artists is proud to welcome the Kronos Quartet to its roster. With a newly revitalized lineup — David Harrington (violin), Gabriela Díaz (violin), Ayane Kozasa (viola), and Paul Wiancko (cello) — Kronos enters a bold new chapter. MKI is honored to support an ambitious new phase of expanded touring across North America.

“For a half century, Kronos has shaken up expectations. With the current lineup, it has the potential to go in new directions… [and] the ability to dig for a deeper emotional connection to sound.”

“They remain a living, breathing world-heritage site for music.”

The New York Times recently described the current Kronos formation as “glow-up… with the ability to dig for a deeper emotional connection to sound, capturing the essence of this moment.” MKI is happy to lead Kronos through transformation, vitality, and new possibilities.

Kronos has long stood as one of the most influential ensembles of the past half-century. Known for redefining what a string quartet can be, they have commissioned over 1,100 works and collaborated across continents, genres, and generations. Their programming is fearless and globally resonant — tackling urgent themes like social justice, identity, environmental crisis, and war.

Among the most impactful Kronos initiatives is Fifty for the Future, a free digital library of new string quartet works used by musicians in over 100 countries. In 2024, the Library of Congress acquired the ensemble’s complete archive, recognizing its profound impact on American music and global culture.

We also extend our deepest thanks to David Lieberman and the team at DLAR, whose extraordinary work over two decades helped shape the Kronos legacy. We are honored to carry that momentum forward.
